Whitminster - 3rd April 2011
A fantastic time was had by all those who attended the latest Goldwork Guild meeting at Whitminster on Sunday 3rd April 2011 [yes, it WAS Mother's Day!] This meeting had Anne Weston showing us how to use a half cone stick [also known as a shoe] to create 3-D foxgloves using metallic threads, although as beginners, we practiced on normal thread first, so we could get the hang of it:
Some finished examples of our foxglove trumpets:
It was an extremely enjoyable day, and we learnt to use a new tool and another ancient craft to manipulate metallic threads.

Many thanks to Anne, and we're all looking forward to the next Goldwork Guild meeting in October.
