Goldwork Embroidery Workshop 27th November 2010

Janice will be attending the Lincoln Bailgate Embroiderer's Guild Branch on Friday 26th November to give a talk to the members. Non-member guests are welcome for a small donation, but please let Jacqui Armitage know if you are coming.

On Saturday, Janice is running a Goldwork Embroidery Workshop where we will be embroidering a butterfly. Cost to non-members is £25 for the day. Again, please let Jacqui know if you are interested. There are only a couple of places left.

Tea/coffee will be available throughout the Saturday, you just need to bring a packed lunch and any goldwork supplies you may have, along with your sewing kit. You will be able to purchase supplies if required.

Both events are taking place at the Bailgate Methodist Church Hall, on Bailgate, Lincoln. Start times as follows:

Friday: Starts 19:00, finishes 21:00
Saturday: Starts 10:00, finishes 16:00.

Goldwork Guild Magazine Issue 9

The latest issue of the Goldwork Guild magazine is now available. Contents include articles on: Learning Embroidery; Timeless Design; Cope Hood; Chinese Linear Design; Book Review; Knots; Couching - clues from the scrap bag; Redundant Embroidery - a Response by Prue King; Redundant Embroidery - Another Take by Jacqui Armitage; Ecclesiastical Embroidery, Church Soft Furnishings, when are they renwed? by Janice Williams; Couching String; and finally, details of what's happening.

The issue also includes details of the latest Goldwork Guild meeting which will be held on Sunday 3rd October 2010 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, at Whitminster Village Hall, Gloucestershire. The morning will consist of a goldwork-related enjoyable activity; and the actual meeting will start at 2:00 pm. Refreshments provided, but if you're coming for both the morning and afternoon, you may want to bring a packed lunch, or you can eat in the local pub or nursery which are both close by.

Goldwork Guild Exhibition 4 -29 September 2010

The Goldwork Guild will be holding its second exhibition, this time at Berrington Hall, from 4th - 29th September 2010. The theme of the exhibition is Good/Evil, Good or Evil themed.

Berrington Hall is open to the public on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesdays, Saturday and Sunday each week from11:00 am to 5:00 pm. The exhibits will be on display in the period dining room of the hall.
